Pros

I really liked a lot of my peers and coworkers.

Cons

Did you notice the “Pros” part was short? Disorganized would be the understatement of the year. I sat through three months of training, and thought “wow I’m learning so much I can’t believe they do all this training. The joke was on me, go ask one of the Community Managers if they can show you how to properly file a work order on their system (which is the most antiquated one I have ever seen); no one will be able to. I’ve never seen a Management company loose as many employees (quit or get fired) and properties as this place. To give you an idea just how bad turnover is on the property management side, they have a whole department JUST for it. The HR department. Jesus fire both of them. The ONE ok HR person, quit with no notice. Everything you’ve heard about Hammersmith Managament if you’re “in the industry”; it’s true. You can not get accounting to actually do anything, I could go on, and on. The left hand doesn’t ever talk to the right hand. Please, please, heed my warning, run. Do not work here, they will make you a very nice job offer, and they will do so because they can not stop their revolving door.

Dear Former Hammersmith® Team Member, Thank you for writing and for bringing up our core values. One of our core values is integrity. As you very well know, we don’t just talk about it. When an employee’s values do not match with ours, the relationship is short-lived. As you were made aware from quarterly meetings, manager meetings, emails, and other forms of communication, Hammersmith® was extremely forthcoming about the case with DORA regarding a mistake a former employee made in 2015. As soon as the case was settled in 2017, we sent letters to all clients and industry professionals to make them aware of what had happened. Our former Vice President left on her own terms and decided to deactivate her own license. We hope this helps to shed some light on the false allegations brought up in your review. -The Hammersmith® Team

Pros

Hammersmith offers employees benefits. Other than a regular paycheck, there is not much to say.

Cons

Hammersmith will often times make promises or roll out new programs with no coverage and no idea how to get the job done. Managers take the fall for everything, even when the problem is beyond the managers control. For all of Hammersmith's 30+ years of experience in HOA management it seems like often times they have no clue what they are doing. Hammersmith pushes ancillary services like websites, newsletters and construction service support but the cost is way too high for what the association receives. Hammersmith has an extremely high turnover rate for Managers and all employees in general. Hammersmith spends way too much time on pretending to be a good company with countless meetings while ignoring actual company issues and ways to help employees. Instead of listening to Managers they blame managers for everything. Maybe this is why none of the managers stay past one year. They preach core values like Life Balance, and Integrity then they dump properties on managers at will with a pedal faster mentality. If the Manager sinks its not because they were given 15 communities, its because they are a "bad manager". As far as integrity, I was personally asked to lie to clients on numerous occasions.

Pros

My paycheck cleared the bank.

Cons

Emotional abuse runs rampant from the top in the Colorado Springs office and HR couldn't care less. Report it and you will see yourself getting fired. They would rather support the abuser than the person getting abused (who provided them with the proof) and open the company to litigation. The bottom line is... Run in the other direction if you are looking at this company. It's what's best for your emotional well being.
