Pros

The mission population is wonderful.

Cons

1) Policy is a six month probationary period which means they can fire without reason at 5.5 months and you will have never got your vacation. 2) Administration can make up whatever nonsense they want, and you never actually sign it or see it. 3) Peer evaluations may be requested, but not utilized. Even with stellar evaluation by your peers, you can still be terminated without just cause.

Pros

Trauma is a rush. It's great to work with people who really need the care and are getting it without a runaround. The providers are top notch and truly are invested in doing their best work. Being around teaching all the time means you are learning all the time, which is a huge plus for me. And there is a very collegial attitude there, leading to unparalleled teamwork and lasting friendships.

Cons

Chronically understaffed. Top management is distant and politically driven. There are 5 managing groups: the hospital, the county, the university, the city and the state. With that many chefs, the sauce will never get cooked, and if it does, the seasoning is bound to be off. Nepotism is rife.

Pros

Univ of WA benefits, high level of care

Cons

Managers are micro managers, too much bureaucracy to get actual work done. Not interested in thinking outside the box. Most RN3 managers are not gifted managers, but rewarded with title/pay bump for longevity. Not open to ideas, lots of meetings, very little gets done.
