Pros

Flexible scheduling, to a point. Decent discount at the store and at other Bed Bath and Beyond stores.

Cons

Minimum wage, sometimes not leaving the register area for hours at a time but getting yelled at for not stocking in areas you're not allowed to go to. We had these like, "impulse buy" monthly sale item we had to try and get customers to buy and the manager had a shaming board for it. If someone didn't sell enough of them, they were pointed out and shamed, regardless of if their shift was dead.

Pros

Sometimes flexible schedule, good if you want a lot of hours, fairly easy work. Most coworkers and assistant managers are cool and make the job somewhat bearable.

Cons

Okay, this is where the review gets real 🔽🔽 Terrible management, hourly pay is abysmal, rude customers, you will be expected to do EVERYTHING. Out of the FOUR store managers my store has seen in my two years working at Harmon, 3/4 were completely incompetent. The fourth manager could run a store but was such an insufferable asshat, that sawing my own arm off with a spoon sounds more pleasing than the thought of working for him again. There are two types of assistant managers. Type 1 are absolute f*cking imbeciles who have no idea how to do their jobs. Type 2 are great at their jobs and so are expected to pick up the combined slack of their dumber counterparts AND the store manager (who's probably in the office watching the security cameras even though the stock room is filled to the brim with 6 pallets of truck that is yet to be broken down.) Fellow associates are chill people. You will instantly bond over the fact that you would rather be anywhere else in the world than in that store. Pay is sh*t. They'll give associates a "raise" for every full year you work there. A whopping 5-10 cents more a year! As far as managers go, I've talked to one assistant who's been with the company for 6 years and still has the same salary they started with. You'll get 8.25 an hour (Thanks to that minimum wage increase!) to work at a job that leaves you physically and mentally exhausted. Responsibilities include: Cashiering Helping customers Trying to force sh*tty products down their throats Arguing with people over bed bath coupons Pulling over stock Packing out Breaking down truck POGs Cleaning Facing merchandise, etc. The return policy is a joke. They'll take back anything and everything, so it's no surprise why the company loses so much money. The laid back coupon and return policy causes customers to get testy. They'll fight you to the death to save 40 cents on a bar of f*cking soap. HR is a joke and calling them will solve nothing. If you have a problem you're better off calling Bed Bath & Beyond HR, as they'll actually try to address any issue. Basically, if you want to get paid crumbs for doing an insane amount of work, all while getting treated like sh*t by the higher ups, this is the place for you! Don't work here. Please. Do it for me. Do it for yourself.

Pros

None, the only positive experience i had at this job was walking out.

Cons

Where do i start.... low pay, stressful environment, horrible management, lazy coworkers, nasty customers, no benefits, short breaks, no set schedule, working on holidays with regular pay, etc. The list goes on...
