Pros

Clinical staff cares about clients, is supportive of one another

Cons

Benefits are awful Not trauma-informed Leadership is out of touch with their staff Undergoing constant program restructuring, numerous staff lay offs Chronically under staffed, high turnover Any time you bring up concerns you get a pep talk instead of any real support and are basically told the problem is you — they say this to everyone Money hungry, no real direction or vision as it constantly changes

There's better places to dedicate yourself to working at

Pros

The clients - to see people wanting to get sober. Most of your co-workers. The beautiful setting. The benefits are great too and almost make dealing with bad management worth it.

Cons

Upper management tries too hard to appear like they care while falling short to actually show they do. There's lots of favoritism, nepotism, and conflicts of interest within the higher ranks. HR is basically best friends with the CEO's life partner, whom also works part time in HR...which makes HR the last place you can go if you are having any problems. In the lower ranks, many people get away with poor job performances without anyone batting an eye - but if you are doing a good job then that's only recognized by them piling more responsibilities onto your shoulders and expecting more from you to make up for the slack in others that they won't address. Not much room for growth in any of the departments.

Pros

1- the front line staff are dedicated to the clients and support one another selflessly 2-Decent pay for a non-profit 3-Beautiful location Beautifully maintained /clean campus. 4-The clients are amazingly appreciative to staff. 5- Great clinical experience/ learning opportunities foe co-occurring substance abuse and trauma. 6-Wonderful and knowledgeable and supportive medical staff. 7- Wonderful and knowledgable and supportive clinical staff

Cons

1--High turnover which leads to significant shortages of qualified staff. Not uncommon for one person to work multiple positions at the same time to help attend to the needs of clients. 2- if in a clinical position, nearly impossible to work less than 50 hours a wee AND get your work done. 3-Needs of staff and suggestions by staff to improve work environment and efficiency are not heard or not respected by executive leadership. One area of exception, the medical director and nursing director do everything they can to support their staff. well . 4– Significant distrust and paranoia between clinical staff and executive leadership. The CEO has good intentions and cares genuinely for the clients, yet demonstrates and verbalizes a lack of trust/ respect for the staff caring for those clients. This dynamic has been observed to lower morale and hinder efficient and needed decision making. 5- Frequent network and phone outages that can be frustrating . 6 - Little opportunity for advancement or movement within clinical staff. Seems to be a preference to hire outside the agency rather than develop and promote internal staff
