Overly competitive calls-obsessed culture, management is unpleasant, long hours expected for low base pay. No different from any other recruitment company.
Autonomy (until things get tough !)
Director sells a positive picture ...will serenade you if necessary!
can negotiate good starter package as desperate for staff
parent seems stable
Cons
No loyalty, main director is all about self interest and personal agenda
little traction or track record in built sector - cold start-up so don't be seduced!
you'll be made the scapegoat when targets not met
closed Sutton office as hardly anyone left and parent pulled the funding
I joined Harper Harrison in 2016 and since joining my time has been extremely positive.
The business is new to the real estate market but has excellent support and backing from the LHI group and all the tools and investment required for a consultant to do their job effectively.
Any tools or investment required can be provided quickly and without delay.
The management style is mature and positive meaning you are trusted to deliver but the support is there as soon as you want and need it.
Team spirit is strong and clear boundaries between consultants exists so you have real sense of ownership of a market.
The business has a great reputation and brand within clients which is associated with quality. As a consultant you are expected to focus on tighter efficiency ratios rather than a volume approach which is refreshing. Being part of a larger group means there are great incentives and earning potentially not usually found with traditional start-up.
Cons
It’s hard work building a business so hours can be long and if you are not 100% committed or if you are looking for an easy job then this may not be right environment.
