Pros

Some cool people and remote work.

Cons

Management doesn't take care of the people who are doing the hard work. If you're not friends with Gabe, you won't do well here. It's a boys club. They pay very low to market standards, but expect you to keep pushing forward and staying positive with no benefit.

Thank you for your feedback. While we’re glad you found flexibility and variety in your role, we’re sorry to hear that your experience with culture and benefits didn’t reflect what we strive to provide. At Hawk Ridge Systems, our People team, as well as our management teams, invest heavily in culture and employee experience through team bonding events like in-person HawkFests, offsites, and holiday celebrations. We also benchmark compensation using competitive market salary ranges and offer a competitive benefits package, including vacation, sick time, extra days off to celebrate your birthday and community service, paid parental leave, as well as fun wellness events throughout the year. We appreciate your contributions and wish you the best moving forward.

Pros

Remote work in US but not overseas

Cons

Pay reduction by 40% from 2023 to 2024 and getting worse. 6 month paid time off blackout. Clueless top heavy management. Core values contradict actual environment. Would NEVER recommend. Hiring contractors from El Salvador because they are cheap

Company is in trouble

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

Really not many at this point

Cons

Senior leadership that doesn't listen, processes that don't work, constant changes for the sake of change, departments rarely work in harmony, the same pay for years while quota has doubled, a marketing team that doesn't know how to market, a sales ops team that doesn't know operations, leadership that doesn't know how to lead. This company can't figure out the basics and is always changing what they offer, it reeks of desperation. The work environment is the exact opposite of the culture and values they love to talk about. Hawk Ridge grew too fast and borrowed money to buy other companies to sell in new states, solidworks opened territories to all vendors and now bond payments are due on purchases they didn't need to make. Their solution is to squeeze everything they can out of their employees.

Decent in some respects

Pros

Very friendly team Consistent expectations Work day ALWAYS ends at 5pm

Cons

Utterly noncompetitive pay and benefits with little to no meaningful growth opportunities within the company. Controlling management who seem to believe we work for pleasure rather than pay (this is a "pizza party" environment). Engineers seem to land at this company because they couldn't cut it in the industry.

Pros

Initially company appeared to have their act together. Training was on-going. Benefits were good, pay was competitive.

Cons

No bonus structure was in place when hired but assured us it would be fair, it was not. Position appeared to be stable up until they let go all permanent SDRs. They had obviously been planning this for months. They hired a company/agency (contractors) to do the same work as the permanent employees and when they determined the time was right, they let the permanent employees go and then lied about the reason.

Thank you for your feedback. We recognize that the transition of our Sales Development Representative team was a difficult change, and we regret the impact it had on those affected. While the decision to restructure and move this function was made for business reasons, it was not taken lightly, as we truly do value our people. At Hawk Ridge Systems, we continue to be guided by our Core Values of Driving Excellence and Staying Stragile as we adapt our business to meet changing needs. We’re grateful for the contributions of all who have been part of our team and wish you the best moving forward.
