DO NOT DO IT!

Pros

room for growth I guess....

Cons

Danielle M. Ferrier is the WORST CEO. Her motto is fire everyone if the program is not working. Now they have no case managers and fired the whole housing team basically. They literally have no one to find housing and case manage the case loads anymore. The fired everyone besides upper management. ALL the blacks/latinos that worked in Admin office was slowly fired. Now admin is all white and they leave all the blacks in low paying positions in Dorchester. When Tom Lorello was CEO things was ran much smoothly and more like a family. I honestly don;t know how the CEO and CFO are still there, if you look closely the turn over is fast! but ever since Tom left and replaced by Danile, everyone at Heading Home has been miserable. They micro manage now because Danielle has control issues. She honestly does not know how to be a CEO, she knows nothing about housing and doesn't have any housing connections and her experience with the homeless population, she cannot relate or identify with clients. Trust me, if you're black or latino you will be fired in less than 2 years unless you stay at case manager level. Any positions at Admin, they want to hire white. Trust me... everyone at the agency thinks the same thing.

Pros

Working with clients was incredible and challenging but great!

Cons

This “nonprofit” is the absolute worst, I realize that now that I am working for an agency that actually cares for employees. There are no employee retreats, no fringe benefits, not even a Christmas card. This agency has fallen so far from grace since Tom was ED. I got PTSD from working with the senior management here. They do not care about you, you are replaceable (although with their reputation they are finding it hard to replace people) and that says a lot about the culture here. There is no work/life balance as you are expected to clean up all the mess all the time while the senior staff watch from high up the hill and justify treating their employees like crap.

Not the place you want to be

Pros

The company when Tom Lorello was the CEO was great.

Cons

This place really really loves to fire people. Mainly to cover their own tracks. Accounting practices are a little more then questionable. They just had one of their Program Managers indicted for embezzling so they got that going for them, which is nice. (you can look that up) A pretty terrible place to work. HR is really struggling to hire new people.
