Pros

Good to their brands Training company wide for brands Company has huge potential Great reputation in retailers Beauty educators are the best of the best. Learn more about makeup if you are still fresh in the field like I was Headkount can really put your brand on top Every one loves their team in store so they support headkounts brands

Cons

No room for growth Conflicts of interest within management were very concerning and alarming Unpredictable schedule creates no work/life balance All expectation with no concern They don't play by their own rules How could you tell yourself that you are up holding your mission statement of caring and providing a career path for your BE's with such a high turnover rate. And no growth opportunities No transparency, honesty or integrity within management Managers could be rude mean and dishonest Mediocre pay but they expect you to be the best of the best. But your hourly rate and paychecks are not great and doesn't align. Schedule was usually late and altered day of with no notice. This is why I had to leave because I am a mom. Poor communication and ethics They try to pay you as little as possible no matter what you do right No benefits or insurance as they purposefully only hire part time salespeople. This creates expensive high turnover and instability. Poor work life balance. Unpaid holidays in traffic in San Francisco

Pros

Working at Headkount with the leadership and coworkers was lovely…at first. Lots of gratis, meeting new people, brand education, overall positive work environment, decent pay, gave me great experience in the industry to seek other opportunities

Cons

Since the company took on new leadership and rapidly expanded the last two years, they started drastically going downhill. Their policies kept rapidly changing and the employees as well as the management became increasingly displeased with the lack of transparency. NO hours, no more requests for time off being respected or approved for work life balance (even if made months in advance), no PTO unless you’re sick, and they want a doctors note.. or there’s hell to pay. constantly harping on employees if they are more than 1 minute late, which is completely RIDICULOUS, especially in THIS industry. No flexibility with scheduling. Oh, you want to stay 10 mins later since you were 10 mins late from traffic? Nope, too bad. If you offer to drive to a store 40 miles away, they won’t hesitate to schedule you there 5 days a week - if the hours permit. Don’t want to drive an hour to work everyday? I guess you won’t have hours then. Oh and be prepared to kiss up to the regionals, going above and beyond if you want the slight opportunity for “advancement” to “full time”, which is really just a slight pay increase for way more work and maybe one office day a week. Be prepared for potential unwarranted criticism from petty event/brand leaders who like to complain in their free time, then receive harsh criticism from management that is disguised as “feedback”. Towards the end of working for this company I have to say they almost ruined my mental health.

Pros

You get much better of a work life balance and set days off, more than any other cosmetic company out there. This is the first place I’ve worked at where I’m not micromanaged or I dread leaving work if I have a bad sales day It’s a startup so lots of room for growth and opportunity. I got promoted within my first 6 months of working. FT employees get benefits I’ve been in the beauty industry for 7 years and compared to most other brands or companies, no one cares about their employees or what they have to say more than this company

Cons

Hours can be sparse at times It’s a startup so can be a little disorganized at times
