Pros

Can’t really think of any, working environment is okay I suppose.

Cons

I regret to say my experience at Headstart Group in the sales position was deeply disappointing. The low pay and commission structure, which was never formally explained despite my inquiries, made motivation challenging. While I understand sales roles are demanding, the lack of support and training, coupled with premature and unwarranted criticism about my performance, created a hostile environment. I was unfairly labeled as "passive" and "incompetent" despite meeting deadlines and securing confirmations, all while still familiarizing myself with the company's systems and products. The lack of communication from upper management and HR was particularly concerning. There were no performance reviews or constructive feedback sessions, only abrupt pronouncements about my supposed unsuitability for the role. Instead of guidance or mentorship, I was swiftly dismissed without any due process or opportunity for improvement, a stark contrast to standard professional practice. Adding to this negative experience was the unprofessional conduct of the individual handling HR duties. Their condescending and rude behavior, coupled with inaccurate accusations about my adherence to workplace rules (such as the breakfast incident, which was resolved immediately), created an uncomfortable and disrespectful atmosphere. Furthermore, the dress code enforcement was arbitrarily applied, requiring me to adhere to formal attire while other employees dressed casually without reprimand. Overall, my time at Headstart Group was marked by low compensation, a lack of support and training, unfair performance evaluations, poor communication, and unprofessional HR practices. I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking a positive and growth-oriented sales role.

Headstart Group Response

Thank you wholeheartedly for your review. We are very sorry about how you feel. In the last 15 years, we have been working tirelessly as a bridge between our schools and our precious teaching team. As we often said, a company is only as good as its people. We value each and everything staff and that includes the teaching team, be they part time or full time. Our company culture is Communicate to Share, Respond to Change, Evolve to Grow, Search to Know and Be Transparent to All (CREST). At all times, we do our utmost to please both sides and manage all scenarios the best we can. In this unprecedented and most challenging time that the world is facing, we are particularly conscious that we must work together to pull through and see the light at the end of the tunnel as a team. Surely, there are things we can improve and we are working on it every day. Our teaching team has grown steadily, and so has our school number. It is not luck. It is sheer hard work, perseverance and team effort. We are humble, sincere and open to suggestions and comments. We would like to hear from you and share with us how we can make things better. Please use our info@headstartgroup.co if you like.

Pros

They do have a wide network.

Cons

They do not give you any training or support. You are just thrown in the deep end and left to get on with it. They assign you to schools that are unruly and known as 'naughty' schools. The upper management do play favourites with their staff. Once the company invited a select group of people go go BBQ at her house. I was invited but didn't go when I found out all my other connections did not make the cut. They do not take protecting your personal details seriously as well. My friend once applied after me and was given documents to take away with her. She called me and identified things from my CV that she shouldn't have known. I asked her how she knew and she said my CV was on the back of the documents this company gave to her. This is a complete breach of confidentially. They of course denied it when I advised them that they should be more careful with this information. After that, they blacklisted me. AVOID!
