Pros

I enjoyed most of the coworkers. The head of HR is second to none, too.

Cons

A few key issues with the company that made for a sour experience. First and foremost, the company is run by two brothers. They are bright, came into the market at an opportune time, and care about their employees...unless you ask any questions about the business model or your compensation. The sales and ops teams allow for their small empire to exist and passively make them money, especially considering that hiring is at a low cost to them, i.e. the high turnover that exists is essentially immaterial to them since any work you do (creating a book of business after learning their predatory sales tactics) stays with them after the fact. Additionally, trying to advocate for a more fair commission structure is a waste of time. You are nothing more than a cog in the machine. Additionally, the business practices feel largely unethical. They make promises to customers that they can get a load booked, whether or not the truckers who allow their business to function are available, sometimes leading to disappointed customers on the basis of overpromising and underdelivering. Furthermore, they have no shame in docking a trucker's pay if anything goes wrong, regardless of whether it's in their control. E.g. if a good, hardworking trucker is late due to weather (like the storms we get out of the blue in CO), they may take that money out of the agreed upon pay for the trucker to ensure that they can further line their pockets. Lastly, if you have desires for growth, check them at the door. Your role will only ever have one dimension (either selling or booking loads on the ops side). If you're in good with the owners, you'll do okay here (provided that you're willing to work crazy hours at a dull, repetitive, unchallenging role and have a compromised moral compass). Otherwise, I'd steer clear.
