Pros

Twice a year bonuses (the equivalent of 1-2 weeks worth of pay). Good co-workers for the most part. Flex time. Some members of middle management truly do care about the employees and will go out of their way to help you even if it is to little or no avail. Health/dental/vision insurance and 401k match.

Cons

I honestly don't even know where to begin... The commission structure is laughable at best and insulting if you are one of the unfortunate few who become product specialists. Goals are structured in such a way that if you are to have a really great year one year, then plan and budget for absolutely tanking the next year. Turnover rates are astronomical. Very, very little support from anyone in management (middle or senior). No coaching, no advice. The most you'll probably hear from anyone in middle management on any given day is "Gotta make more calls..." If you go to them asking for help because you're struggling (mind you, YOU have to be the one to reach out for help because they are content watching you flounder from afar) your response will most likely be "Gotta make more calls..." While management might not actively reach out to help with coaching opportunities or training of any sort, you can rest assured they will micromanage every other aspect of your day. Speaking of management... There are entirely too many proverbial cooks in the kitchen. On a good day, if all territories are filled (I'm not entirely sure I ever saw this happen...) you have maybe 40 reps. To complement this, you now have 6 (soon to be 7) Sales Managers and an additional 5 (soon to be 6) Sales Supervisors! What's that? You're asking me what the difference is between Sales Managers and Sales Supervisors? I DON'T KNOW! They're both middle management and you're supposed to go to Sales Managers for certain questions or issues and Sales Supervisors for others... Good luck figuring it out. You'll get a different answer or directive from every single one you ask. Most members of management are grossly unqualified for their positions and incredibly unprofessional... This shows, day in and day out. Certain Sales Managers are highly combative with both subordinates and cohorts. Often, several members of management will gather in one of the offices, for hours, to sit around and gossip and bash their employees. Mind you, these offices have glass walls with sliding glass doors and are in the middle of the sales floor. It is both very visible and audible... What kind of impact do you think this has on your employees? What kind of message do you think you're sending? Highly unprofessional and just further promotes the toxic culture and environment at Health Care Logistics. Bottom line, if you're looking to make decent money with a high commission potential, career advancement opportunities, and a respectable level of professionalism then do not come here.

Pros

I can think of only two things- benefits and the fact you will learn what you'll want you will want and not want in your next employer.

Cons

The inventive structure is laughable at best. The goals in most territories are unattainable, especially if you're an individual upper management has it out for. At that point your goal will be set for the new quarter to a number you will not reach so you're able to be cut off and let go. Myself and many others have witnessed this. The owner's son is running people away right and left. He has been known to make bigoted comments to members of the team, i.e. comments regarding female's age, racist remarks toward and about people of color, etc. The owner is a great business man who knew how to run a business, yet his offspring will only run it into the ground. Sad to see the morale of an entire company sink to the depths it has.

Pros

No weekends, easy job.

Cons

Extremely boring job, some days after my work was done I would just sit there with nothing to do for 4 hours! They don’t care about you, and they always seem to be “sneaky” like something is going on, and management just seems super fake! You are chopped liver if you aren’t an account manager. After personal time is gone and something happens they will FIRE you, even if you have vacation time left over. No doctors notes or anything will help- I understand that personal time is nice to have but stuff and life happens. After they fire you they will take out of your paycheck “ what you owe them” it’s ridiculous.
