Pros

The mission of the company itself is wonderful and the material they teach others on how to become a successful Health Coach is fantastic. Great money if you are willing to sell your soul to just making your career in this position your main priority.

Cons

The fact that they don't allow their employees (especially the SALES team) to have that work-life balance and allow them to have positive, healthy lifestyles that they teach in their program. Also, the sales team isn't even encouraged to go through the program that they are selling (which makes sense). They say you can go through it in your own time, but hard to do when you are working 60-80hrs per week. Instead, they would rather turn and burn employees and just hire more to replace you if not hitting a goal. Not a good fit for anyone with any type of family and other priorities in life.

Pros

Some co-workers are the best people Remote work has many benefits Students are great

Cons

Unprofessional, inappropriate, and unskilled leadership at the highest level. Executive team focus on short term greed for themselves over student success. Enrollments done by any means necessary. Frivolous spending/expensing on clothing, unit rentals, food, luxuries etc. from leadership. Tens of thousands on clothes and hair and make up, but small raises for employees are denied. Aggressive outbursts from executives and a culture of bullying accepted. Threats and intimidation internal and to external vendors rife. Inappropriate staff behavior towards students/staff ignored. Fake messaging and “company culture”. Employees are gaslighted and have a cult mentality. Success Coaches (ex-students) are kept out of the politics and do not know what is behind the curtain in the day to day. Only successful coaches are those who coach other coaches or become employed by the company. Essentially an MLM/pyramid scheme. The “graduated students” use the incoming ones to make money off. If you are going to take this course, ask the hard questions. Know that bankruptcy or death is the only reason you will get out of payment. Speak to ex-students online (not the ones the company get for you or students who became employees). Know that the certificate is not recognised anywhere, you cannot get government assistance and that the course is created by people without any formal training or experience. Ask for the coaching history and success stories of leadership (there is none). Don’t accept non-specific answers. You deserve to have the full picture. Health Coaching is an unregulated field, anyone can print a paper certificate and make it look fancy.

Pros

Work from home. Helping students.

Cons

Too many managers managing same team, without organization skills, without experience. Unrealistic expectations, regarding work life balance. Hypocritical selling health and wellness but nothing for employees. Machine like environment.

Health Coach Institute Response

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience working at Health Coach Institute. As a high growth company, we understand that there will be growing pains. Behind the scenes, we are working hard to stay in tune with the desires and needs of our employees. We are investing in top enterprise tools like Salesforce to streamline workflows and processes. We are also working hard to hire additional inside sales talent to stay in front of our company goals and lessen any burden on our sales team. Like most senior inside sales positions in the marketplace, the Clarity Coach position is a metrics driven role which requires dedication and consistent effort to meet or exceed sales goals. We do not expect all salespeople to thrive in a high volume inside sales role such as this. Some people will love this type of work and others will not, and that's ok. Hiring is one of the most important things we do and we are working everyday to improve in this vital practice. Thank you again for your valued feedback!
