I was warned not to work here...I should have listened!
Pros
There some great folks that I worked with on my team. The stressful environment results in people bonding for survival.
Cons
If there was an option for zero stars, I would have given HealthSparq that rating. When I was offered this job, I was warned both by an existing employee, and a former employee, to run fast and never look back. Unfortunately, I didn't listen. If I can spare someone from experiencing the pain of working here, then I would be performing a humanitarian service. So where do I begin: - Dysfunctional, toxic work environment with constant infighting between departments and lots of bus throwing and scapegoating going around. All of this antagonism is exhausting at times. - Lousy executive and mid-level management that is more interested in advancing their own careers than in supporting their employees, and is unable to communicate clearly company directives and strategy. I have witnessed executive managers pitting departments against each other in meetings. - Incredible turnover with my department having 7 people leave just in the past year, and it's not that big of a department either. A surprising number of people that I know are actively seeking employment elsewhere. - Benefits are poor, especially the health benefits, which is amazing since it's a medical insurance company. I have never in my career worked in a company that holds its employees in so little regard.
