Sometimes the importance of the mission supercedes the importance of individual staff.

They will burn you to a crisp if you are passionate, dedicated, and there to truly make a difference. While touting that self care is important, they expect staff to bend over backwards and perform literal miracles to meet unrealistic standards and measures and unmanageable caseload sizes (60-70+ monthly contacts?!) . Questioning management policies will definitely get you on a "watchlist" and you will definitely be treated differently and POORLY for simply trying to clarify information, ask further questions, or offer advice. I took FMLA due to mental health issues exacerbated by my supervisor and other management, and was then questioned about the legitimacy of my time off, though they weren't even legally supposed to contact me during my time off. Promotions are given to those who are willing to 'drink the Kool Aid' and blindly follow upper management.
