Pros

EXCELLENT PAY and benefits. The personnel is awesome. New equipment. Upkeep on equipment is great. Open doorpolicy, you can talk to anyone in the offices. Plenty of miles if you are willing to run. Many different divisions you can choose to run under. One to suit what you want and need. I have never felt like I work for them I always felt like I work WITH them. The CEO Mike is an AWESOME man to talk with and work with. I love their monthly get togethers at different terminals to show the DRIVERS APPRECIATION. Mgmt shows that drivers can be respected in this industry. The personal and works values of Heartland are very high.

Cons

No pet policy. I would love my chihuahua with me. 64mph I wish they would bump the trks up to 68 or 70. No fridges in trks. I wish they would.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write us a review. This is excellent feedback to read and we're grateful to have drivers like you in the Heartland family!

Pros

They have great terminals and friendly operations staff. The availability of a company car at the Gordon terminals was a godsend if you needed to send money home or go grocery shopping or even just needed to get away from the truck for an hour. They welcome professional development.

Cons

The Heartland buyout was a bad move. The company is distancing themselves further and further from the driver with every step to merging the two companies. The Heartland terminals are run down and nasty and the Heartland drivers are rude to the Gordon drivers. The shop in Phoenix is especially biased against the Gordon drivers.

Pros

Cafeteria Staff are good people.

Cons

The most miserable experience. CREng. is better. SWIFT is better. Working at Burger King would even be better, at least then you would get to see your family and have a consistent paycheck. Go with Heartland if you want to be overworked and UNDERPAID. If you want to be treated like a piece of trash, if you NEVER want home time, if you want to not make enough to support your family, if you want to get woken up by multiple, unnecessary phone calls on your 10, while you're trying to sleep, if you want to be constantly lied to, mistreated, used and broke, then go with Heartland. If you want to miss Holidays and Family functions even when you put in advanced notice. The simply DO NOT CARE about anything except profit. They will lie to you and promise promise promise, but your needs are a joke to them. Their managers are not very bright, no one will answer your calls if you're in a bind for whatever reason. They interrupt your sleep with stupid phone calls that aren't urgent. My favorite thing was once they thought they put me on hold, but I could hear every word, and the things they were saying about other people would get any normal employee fired. Very creepy and rude, namely the Tacoma Wa. terminal, they are almost like bill collecting scammers, if they weren't working for a Trucking Co. they would be telemarketers. If you like being abused, this is the perfect company. I feel sorry for the guys that are stuck here at Hateland, who are either new drivers or can't get on anywhere else, because there are SO MANY great and better companies out there, that actually appreciate and pay their Drivers. Don't believe me? Ok, go ahead and sign on with these lot and then you can break your back for Peanuts, while your Family goes hungry without you around anymore.
