Pros

Not dealing with management on a daily basis

Cons

Horrible pay for the hours you work. 13-14 hour shifts at some locations. Expected to be a janitor, receptionist and the lowest class employee while being expected to provide security for them. No breaks at all and no money for lunch to compensate. Expected to cover shifts when your paid salary = working for free because this company does not compensate you. This company has only offered overtime when they were short staffed. But when staffing is adequate that is gone. But overtime didn't start till you had already clocked 50hrs in that week. Lower management is just as lost as the new guys when it comes to receiving your stocks, which change in quantity as they choose. Some individual speak to you like trash because the majority of employees are vets and they believe they can get away with it. There is a lot more to be said about this company, but if you want to make equal pay for an easier job, just apply for the budtenders job who make what you do hourly and take home tips

Pros

It's an easy job for the most part

Cons

You have even less job security than an employee. If the client doesn't like your face then you're fired. The hours are horrendous and they schedule you at the last minute. You never get a free weekend. Though I am not involved with the suite, Helix TCS is involved in a class action lawsuit for unpaid overtime. They are an unethical company with a manager who degrades people he doesn't like. He dislikes fat people.. Expect military style chewings where you are called horrible things, especially if you are overweight. They were just delisted from the stock exchange, and the shares they gave people are now practically worthless. They have such a bad reputation that they can no longer acquire new clients. They did not provide me or their employees with a full 8 hours sleep between shifts. They had me drive between Greeley and Denver for work with no compensation for gas. They have a toxic culture, and hate all their employees and clients. They have been open for years and have never fully furnished their corporate offices. They keep gear and equipment strewn about on the floor. There are no posters or pictures on the walls. After 5 years they still haven't fully furnished their corporate offices. They have no clue what they are doing. They are run by a bunch of veterans with PTSD who carry guns. Working for Hekix is like working for a corrupt, low paid, version of the military that guards marijuana.

Pros

Fellow guards generally work together well, pass information as needed and remain professional.

Cons

Management cares only about their paycheck. They fail to understand basic fundamentals of leadership. The pay fails to come close to the expectations for the amount of hours worked. Management says "salary". However it's one sided. Salary model is only if you go over what they pay you for. If you fall short (which sometimes comes only from management from scheduling errors, you will still be docked pay. Example.. most guards work between 95-120hrs a pay period. But your only paid for 86. Unless you fall under 86 then you'll get hourly. The execution team at Helix could care less about anything but themselves. They are too self absorbed. They fail to deliver on benefits as well. In fact that's their selling point on why you get "salary vs hourly". However, they do not honor any of their promises.
