Pros

- you don't have to do any work if you don't want to - vacation time is not tracked so you can take as much as you want - pet friendly - full benefits package - close to skytrain

Cons

- Projects are not managed properly, very disorganized - Overtime is paid in fast food - no work ethic for most employees, expected to stay late and be part of a lazy mismanaged team of misfits who can't get employment elsewhere in their field of expertise - Clear favourites are chosen and allowed to not do any work and just sit on facebook or reddit all day long without any consequences - Company culture of laziness and staying late to pretend to work hard in the eyes of the CEO, productivity is not noticed only fake shows of effort by staying late - People are hired into senior or lead position with no experience in the field they are hired for which clearly shows as basic principles or common sense are never followed

Pros

1. Amazingly close to skytrain. 2. Close to Costco which is fantastic. 3. Pet friendly.

Cons

1. When you voice your opinion, they take it as a personal attack. 2. People are treated differently depending on their role. There's a clear hierarchy and favoritism. 3. Attitude towards quality is "just good enough". People don't strive to do their best. 4. Very dirty office, there's no professional cleaning service. 5. No overtime pay, but compensated with overtime food (which never satisfies your hunger). 6. Asked to do massive amounts of unnecessary overtime due to lack of management in other departments. 7. Management has no clue about how to create a proper schedule. 8. Some employees arrive to work at 10 am, take 2+ hours lunch break and leave at 5pm and then wonder why they have to do crunch time later in the project. 9. Not willing to improve, thinks the studio is the best of the best. 10. Making cheap knockoffs of other already established game franchises. 11. Doesn't match industry standard for pay. 12. Passive aggressive approach towards employees. 13. No HR to handle employee matters.

Pros

Had some great coworkers. Worked on a fun project.

Cons

This company fails at employee retention and development. Here are the key observations that impacted me: Below-Average Compensation: The company paid salaries that were approximately 10-15k below the industry standard. Their reasoning for this was that they were a small company. Lack of Supportive HR Team: Without an HR team in place, there was an absence of structured processes for annual reviews, discussions about advancement opportunities, and areas for professional growth. Selective Approach to Raises: Raises seemed to be given primarily to favorites or those who specifically requested them. It was demoralizing to see a lack of transparency and fairness when it came to compensation adjustments based on performance and merit. Furthermore, it's important to mention that the company often made promises of company shares, bonuses, and advancement opportunities, but these commitments rarely materialized. Considering my experiences, I viewed this company as a stepping stone in my career journey, providing valuable experiences and lessons, but ultimately pushing me to seek more fulfilling opportunities elsewhere. I would not recommend working here.
