Pros
Picked up some sophisticated business acumen that broadened selling abilities. Colleagues were all cool and came from accomplished schools and backgrounds. Fancy working address on Crosby Street. Salary was fair.
Cons
You will be expected to interact within conversations that are essentially dog tail chases, where the CEO and upper management are searching for some answer that only they will know and that is absolutely not obvious or even related to project objectives or perhaps even has anything to do with the conversation. Have you ever sat in a meeting with colleagues looking at each with other with beleaguered wide eyes after everyone has stated the obvious and that's still not the right answer, or even considered to be a worthy contribution? If not, come work here. Yes the products are "sophisticated" but the company hedges itself more on that branding, essentially trying to feel more self important than they actually are. It's kitchens folks. Yes the materials are quality and yes being fabricated in Seattle is a cool selling point, but we don't have to make things too complicated than they actually are. This is a kitchen design company with some additional accessories. When the company realizes they're fabricating kitchens and not the new exhibit at the MOMA maybe we can get somewhere. Was a relief when I left and could converse about objectives at hand at my new company, rather than searching for proverbial fancy straws and being pushed to utilize convoluted jargon to explain what - sorry Henrybuilt - is a pretty basic concept. Kitchens.
