Pros

In my experience, working in a small or under-resourced team allows people to take on a variety of responsibilities and gain broad experience.

Cons

In my experience, overtime expectations, shifting priorities, and resourcing challenges affected workload and work-life balance

Pros

The people make the business the energetic and passionate place it is. There is a geniune care and attention to detail that goes into both the work and workplace interactions that makes Hera a rewarding place to work. Yes you will be challenged as the workload is diverse and complex at times, but the support and technical knowledge available across the business is readily available for those willing to ask. You get a real sense of value contributing in a team environment such as this where your efforts (be it engineering or drafting) are making a notable difference to the success of the business. The office shift to slightly longer Monday-Thursdays so that the office can knock off at 1:30pm on a friday has been a majorly positive outcome personally and throughout the office. It is a rewarding feeling and quite refreshing to have the extended weekend time each and every week.

Cons

It is fast paced, so if you are of a more timid character I could see where you might struggle. However, if you are prepared to speak up and seek guidance and demonstrate an ability to learn and apply to future tasks, you can learn to get up to speed with this team

Pros

- Good opportunities, if you take on extra responsibility you'll be rewarded. Salary goes hand in hand with this. - No expectation to work outside of hours, if anything it's frowned upon. Management will go out of their way to identify reasons for this happening and try and resolve the issue as promptly as possible. - Avoids keeping people whom cannot achieve minimum requirements for their job. Note I've been involved directly with working with individuals trying to find alternative types of work they can complete confidently, however not always possible. It's not fair to the entire team to keep people people with poor performance as it puts unnecessary pressure on the rest of the team. - Leave early on Friday (1pm for most people) - Anonymous survey (yes actually anonymous) provides a line of communication for everyone to provide criticism on anything. This has been beneficial to making changes.

Cons

- With the continual growth there can be large volumes of work and competing deadlines, this can feel like additional pressure at points. - Nothing further to elaborate on company specific, working closely with the construction industry can have direct negatives (e.g. last minute changes). - WFH is not as flexible compared to some companies, there is more flexibility to people with kids etc.
