Cons

To reiterate many of the previous reviews - Heyday had so much potential to be great. To set an industry standard for what a skincare company should be like - one that places a true emphasis on "people first" as their motto claims. They now might as well change it to "sales first". Yes folks, it does not matter how much time and energy you've dedicated into the company. If you do not meet sales goals set by the company, you WILL get in trouble. Whether your clients truly need to get enhancements or purchase products does not matter. You better sell it to them if you want to survive in this company. Let me remind you, we are in a middle of a pandemic. Some clients simply cannot afford to receive an enhancement or purchase a product every time they come in for a facial. Just being able to come in for a facial is tough for most them as is! For some reason, this concept is too hard for them to grasp. In the past, there was a tiny bit of room for upward movement but that soon changed after they hired new management in 2019 (particularly 2 individuals- one brought in the other - hello! corporate nepotism anyone?) who have no idea how to run a business. As a matter of fact, it is public knowledge that the company(s) they helped run in the past have gone into chapter 11 bankruptcy. You can easily grab the info by doing a quick google search. Yet Heyday keeps hiring these individuals with histories of running failed businesses or running them into the ground. But to each their own I guess. The company claims they have your best interest as employees and "encourages" you to bring up any issues that is hindering you to perform your best as a skin therapist or host. How about providing SAFE WORKING CONDITIONS for your employees? Some of the shops have no heat in the winter time and the AC always breaks during summer time. And if you bring that up to management, instead of fixing the issue, they want you to stop "complaining" and "be more positive". Well it's pretty darn hard to stay positive when you're freezing and giving cold facials to clients. Someone from management will visit the shop for less than an hr. and will tell YOU (you know the person who has to spend an entire day in the tundra) that it's "not so bad". Are you kidding me!? It’s sad when the clients feel bad that you have to work in such conditions but your employers don’t. They want us to handle feedbacks and view them as areas of opportunity. But they cannot handle feedback of any kind themselves. Hypocrites much? I truly feel for the employees who decided to give this place another chance by going back once it re-opened, hoping things would be different than how it was right before everything shut down. Morale is at an all time low in the shops. However, this is not reflective of the employees in the shop but rather the management/corporate team who constantly fail to acknowledge their mishandling of the shops. There is too much micromanaging and no real sense of work or stability. Employee turnover rate is so high at this place from host to skin therapist to shop managers. Shop managers drop like flies at this place. People in the shops are overworked and underpaid. They expect you to go above and beyond for them and for what? Management does not value the work and time of the people working in the shops. It amazes me when management/corporate does NOT recognize the BACKBONE of their company. HR is all fluff and no grit. Sorry to break it you folks - HR is not on your side but just there to ASSESS LIABILITY and MAKE PEOPLE LEAVE. And liability could be as simple as having an opinion on anything. They just want robots as employees who just keep hush and do as they are told. Management will slowly but surely chip away at your confidence. I've experienced it myself and have seen it happen to my co-workers. They'll do their best to make you think that you are not worthy of that promotion or that pay raise. To past or present employees working in the shops - trust me...it is not you! But the company will try their best to make you believe you're the problem so that once it's time for that annual review - they can tell you, "sorry you don't get a raise". I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you want to be stressed 24/7 and have it affect your physical and mental health in a negative manner, then this is the place to be!

Pros

As of the end of 2023, they did offer a generous employee discount and unlimited PTO. However, unlimited PTO is a double-edged sword because not everyone takes as much time off as they otherwise would, and even worse, when you get laid off, you don't get paid out for vacation days since they were unlimited. But if you have a good manager and your team isn't drowning in work, unlimited PTO can be pretty nice.

Cons

Heyday math is saying you're a "people-first" company, but also: -Laying off 1/3 of the office right before the holidays and only giving one month of severance pay -Never giving inflation/cost-of-living raises -Not subsidizing insurance coverage for spouses AT ALL -Constantly asking for employee feedback but never acting on it -Still somehow thinking they are actually "people-first"

Pros

The other shop employees are amazing

Cons

All these reviews saying there’s no cons and give 4-5 star reviews are obviously written by the higher ups trying to save face for this company that’s going to the s#!ts and are trying to make it seem like it’s not as bad as it really is. Dont listen to these false claims that its a great place to work cause its really not. Try anywhere else first
