Pros

Work-Life Balance: Explicitly mention the healthy boundaries, such as being able to log off on time or having a manageable workload. Stability: Highlight the security that comes with a multinational corporation (MNC) and its established presence

Cons

Promotion Stagnation: Describe how the "family business" culture can lead to limited upward mobility or promotions based on tenure and internal ties rather than just merit. Complex Governance: Mention that having a China-based head office can result in intricate layers of "extra rules" beyond standard SOPs, which may slow down local workflows. Bureaucracy: Note that while it is an MNC, decision-making can feel centralized and rigid, similar to a traditional family enterprise.

Traditional Company with Limited Growth Opportunities

Pros

- One of the larger companies in the manufacturing sector — may add some brand value to your resume if you're building a career in this industry - Non-wage benefits are decent, with lunch, snacks, and festive treats provided during holidays - Most colleagues are friendly and easy to work with - Job stability is relatively high; employees are unlikely to be let go unless there’s a serious issue

Cons

- The Singapore office building is extremely old (30–40 years) and has not been renovated. There are frequent maintenance issues, including water leaks that cause flooding, broken toilet cubicles, and pest problems such as rats, snakes, and mosquitoes - Management style is very top-down and harsh. Some HODs regularly scold staff and show clear favoritism, making the environment difficult for many employees - Salary is on the low-to-average side for the industry - Long-serving staff tend to resist change, making process improvements and collaboration difficult — especially when some HODs don’t lead by example - Noticeable divide between operators and office staff, which affects team cohesion - Very traditional Chinese work culture, which may not suit everyone, especially younger employees or those looking for a more progressive environment - Job progression is very limited; roles tend to be stagnant with few opportunities for advancement or skill development
