The promotion of overworking has to stop. When you see that this business is “inclusive” and supports people from “all walks of life” you think you are going into a business that is supportive and understanding. Unfortunately this isn’t the case. The constant overload of work is insane. More than one member of staff have had to take time out for a week or two at a time due to burnout.
Claim to be diversity and inclusion specialists but simply use this as a tool to get more business. Work with one client you’re being pushed to put “diverse candidates” in front of them with a compromise on skill set whereas some other partners have voiced they don’t care about D&I and we still continue to work with them. It’s a tick box exercise when it comes to D&I. There is no training, no speakers and no partnerships from a D&I perspective which is what the business is founded on. Go figure.
If you’re a popular figure in this business you will be praised and looked after, if you’re the latter, expect to work your butt off with little to no recognition.
Salaries are terrible for the work that is expected to put in. Expect to be working 4 different roles in one role and then deliver on each area impeccably. It is not humanly possible to be so overloaded that you can deliver on everything.
One of the founders made it clear to the business that they do not like the word “capacity” (they said this in the weekly all hands meetings on more than one occasion) and this is something that they are not willing to listen to as everyone is busy. This just shows the way people drown in this business, because you’re not allowed to express that you’re at full capacity.
