Pros

Benefits and decent pay

Cons

This was a good company in the early days. It’s a HORRIBLE company now. NO Diversity, White privilege. If you’re Not in the Popular crowd you want get promoted. Very high turnover, all leadership is incompetent and know nothing about being a leader, especially the ones over the 1 large contract the company has. You can’t trust ANY of the managers they lie and are two- faced. Managers will go into your products and make changes messing things up and act as if you made the mistake. There is no accountability. Managers praise you in public but talk about you behind your back. If you have a brain, think for yourself, and voice your opinion you’re a target. When they want to push you out they start disciplinary action over minor or even made up stuff so it’s looks legit and then they fire you. The list goes on.....

Thank you for taking time to write a review. While the number of minorities in senior leadership positions is not as high as we’d like it to be, minorities comprise almost half of the overall employee population at HighPoint. We have also made increasing the number of minorities in senior leadership positions one of our strategic objectives and are actively focused on increasing minority representation at the highest levels of the company. Finally, our largest contract just recently grew in revenue and capabilities heading into a new option year, due to its capable leadership team and the high quality products developed by our talented employees on the contract. We appreciate your years of service to HighPoint and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Getting Worse and Worse

Pros

Friendly coworkers. Work from home.

Cons

I once had an optimistic view of HighPoint and looked forward to coming to work each day. Over the past 14 months, things have truly taken a turn for the worse. The level of turnover and lack of sufficient training for new hires has caused once-standard processes to be completely neglected. This has, in turn, made work less and less collaborative, stifled innovation and creativity, and contributed to unrealistic turnaround times. Employees are more disgruntled than ever, and many of us need to put in after-hours work week after week just to keep up with increasingly demanding workloads. And, to top it off, we just received an announcement last week that benefits are being cut substantially, in order to “win new business.” In addition, management has gone back on their word regarding paid time off. They have also made little to no progress on initiatives outlined over a year ago. I’m not sure why the decision was made to take the poor results of upper-level management decisions out on employees, but it seems to be a very short-sighted move that will only result in higher turnover and contribute to an even more toxic work environment down the road. I am inclined to believe that upper-level executives are perfectly fine with employees finding work elsewhere so that they can replace them with cheaper hires. (Although, perhaps you also don’t need multiple offices in Indianapolis and multiple offices in Baltimore?) So, to those considering a position at HighPoint, I would highly advise caution. You should be wary of seeking an opportunity here given the current nature of the company.

Sinking Ship

Pros

Flexible work hours. Opportunities to watch middle management sink a ship in slow motion.

Cons

Upper management out of touch, AllisonPointe middle managers inept and ineffective. Too many people jockeying for some kind of power - lots of backstabbing. Trudging from meeting to meeting day in and day out while trying to second guess what the client wants doesn't positively contribute to the contract. This company loves to create ineffective processes.
