Pros

I genuinely liked many of the people I worked with at the casino and looking back, I had some fun times there. It could be fast-paced occasionally, but mostly it was a pretty casual & laid back work atmosphere. I knew my job well & enjoyed doing it. Pay wasn't the best I ever had, but actually quite decent for this area.

Cons

Where do I start? The work environment there at times could be mistaken for high school with many employees, including supervisors, engaging in gossip, talking behind other's backs & other child's play. As a non-Native employee, I went nowhere in the company. Even though I did my job perfectly & always performed my duties as expected, I stayed working late nights on 3rd shift, many times closing by myself which actually was cool as it was less drama I had to deal with. In the near 6 month time frame that I was there, I never received an offer to move up to 2nd shift which I had really wanted & when I was hired, I wasn't told I would be stuck on 3rd shift for so long. Even when I successfully completed the 90 day probation period, I was not promoted to 2nd shift, supposedly because they had difficulty hiring anyone in my department. I've also seen discrimination against other non-tribal employees & supervisors. Oh and your personal & family life will suffer as a result of working here, so you might as well forget about all that because you won't be able to spend much time if any with your family. You literally have to eat, breathe & live at the casino. As a non-smoker I also had chest pains from breathing in all the cigarette & cigar smoke that just permeated the whole place. The healthcare isn't as great as they pump it up to be either.
