Management tends to push a lot of responsibilities down, even ones that don’t really fit the Accountant role. Communication isn’t great, especially when it comes to updates or changes in procedures. There’s also quite a bit of turnover, which means the workload is always shifting and it’s not unusual to end up working nights or weekends. Working remotely has its benefits, but it’s also made it harder to keep up morale and accountability. Leadership feels distant or at times non-existent, and there’s not much of a team atmosphere it often feels like everyone’s just trying to get by on their own.
