Chaotic dung-heap full of white supremacists and uncle toms
Pros
It's a good place as a workplace leader for fair treatment of people of all backgrounds, with regular talks, ceremonies and tokens like free wristbands and cookies. (Pre COVID) If you don't value career progression the experience is great, there's gyms, food, discount vouchers and you go home early.
Cons
Work-wise management is very old fashioned and repeatedly continues to hire leaders and managers that have 80s mindsets. Like films from that age, white men get more dialogue than any other group. And they all think they know your job better than you, so if you try to give your knowledge based on your expertise you will make them feel insecure, which is bad for you. If you try to balance your life with your work life (all within flex both ways or Hollard Cares) the CFOs (there were a few) give you snide, passive aggressive remarks. Everything is either stored in Excel, someone's email, someone's head or the ultimate dung-heap that is the OLAP cube, that one person in IT is responsible for its livelihood. For a company of this size systems are long overdue, but the leaders will hesitate to support, and sit behind a wall of bureaucracy, very disheartening.
