Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re pleased to hear you value initiatives like payday drinks, hybrid working and quarterly lunches - benefits we’re proud to offer and that we know make a positive difference. We also acknowledge your comments around company meet-ups, bonuses, recognition and pay. We aim to recognise and reward our people in a number of ways, including through career development and progression, spot awards, Hollistars, and multiple bonus/incentive schemes linked to both individual and company performance. Pay reviews are based on individual performance and wider factors. Outcomes can vary, so we’re unable to comment on specific cases, but would like to confirm for clarity that a 1% increase is not a company-wide standard. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback - it helps us to continue reviewing and improving the overall experience for everyone.

Pros and Cons.

Pros

- bonus scheme - pay at the market rate - quarterly lunches and team events

Cons

- hire and fire company - at its core it is still a building surveying company, with other services tagged along - the company is run by accountants, whose only concern is billing rate for each employee - you learn the art of timesheet engineering - each employee has to try to win work, whereas at a traditional company it is the role for senior members of staff. - admin level staff are easily dispensable - they promote the #HollisOneTeam but not a reality on the ground.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and reflect on your experience at Hollis. We’re pleased to see that you recognised areas such as pay alignment, the bonus scheme, and opportunities for teams to come together through events. We also appreciate your openness in sharing how the business felt from your perspective during your time with us. Hollis continues to evolve in response to changing client needs and market conditions, while remaining proud of its surveying heritage. As with many growing organisations, this has involved change, and we recognise that periods of transition can feel challenging. We would like to clarify a couple of points you raised. Changes to employee numbers have not been the result of a single exercise, but part of the ongoing evolution of the business to ensure roles, skills and capacity remain aligned with our long term strategy. Similarly, Hollis does not experience high staff turnover; in fact, our retention levels have remained strong and consistent, and are above the industry average. You also mentioned that Hollis had a great culture until recently. Our engagement survey data shows year on year improvement over the past few years, rather than a decline. We share this not to dismiss your experience, but to provide clarity and broader context for those reading. Thank you again for sharing your feedback, we do appreciate it and we wish you all the best in the future.
