Pros

If you're really into companies that try to pretend like you're a family you'll fit in here. This company really wants you to buy in to their "bamily" (business-family) and be incredibly social. Extroverts will have a good time here, but if you're an introvert you're not going to enjoy this company culture.

Cons

I worked here for less than two weeks and was terminated with no warning and no explanation other than that they didn't think it was a good "culture fit." I was given zero instruction from my manager or any indication that I was under-performing. Apparently I wasn't enthusiastic enough during their orientation program. I'm not an incredibly outgoing person, but nor was I rude or hostile in any way, and I participated whenever asked. If you're unemployed and looking for work go ahead and take a chance on this place, but if you're considering leaving your current job to work here be warned that they might just pull the rug out from under you with no warning or remorse and leave you unemployed.

Don't buy the culture hype

Pros

Plenty of friendly coworkers. Leave right at 5 each day.

Cons

The company loves to talk about about how great the culture is. But the typical perks of a weekly food truck, free snacks and spirit days does not make a culture. Here's what else develops a culture: - A significant lack of paid sick leave, especially for employees in their first 1-2 years. Thereby forcing employees to choose between working in the office when ill or taking unpaid time off after they've depleted what little paid sick time they had. Obviously most come in, so diseases regularly spread fast through the staff. - Executives begrudgingly allowing staff to work from home during a pandemic then subtly making them feel guilty about the opportunity to do so. - Forcing exhausted employees into the office at 8 a.m. for a full day of work after a red-eye flight back from a busy trade show rather than giving them a well-deserved day off. - Executives who aren't open to concrete feedback and new ideas. They like to make a show of brainstorming and planning sessions, but these only lead to generic teamwork/motivational platitudes. - Making staff work half days on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve (both completely unnecessary) rather than be with their friends and family. - No holidays off work for half the year (New Year to Memorial Day). - Having executives who openly mock the political leanings of employees to their face. - Creating cushy VP positions for friends of executives. On that note: The favoritism displayed to friends and family of executives is a joke. This is widely discussed by employees and mentioned in other Glassdoor reviews. In summary: Keep your head down, stick to the status quo, regularly tell the executives how wonderful they are, and you can do pretty well for yourself here. Question anything about the way things have always been done, offer suggestions for positive change, question anything executives say or do, and you'll fall out of favor soon enough.

Pros

Great company values and the people who stick around really believe in them, value each other and want the best for the company and its agents. A personality assessment program is used to better understand coworkers and it's a little cheesy, but it got people talking and I think did help the work environment. Good pay in some positions, but I believe there was a huge range across the board, even within departments. Ask for what you're worth, don't just accept what they give you. Pride in working for a leading and growing brokerage. Good benefits - they actually increased their contribution to employee healthcare recently. Employee appreciation events, quasi-stocked kitchen and a great new office space.

Cons

Leadership sometimes let emotions get in the way of business goals and relationships. Everything was a fire drill, especially with the CEO. He's a great mind, but wants everything he wants yesterday and then he's on to the next shiny object. I know they were working on being more strategic, so it may have changed, but it was essentially a reactive environment. There was a good amount of turnover while I was there and I would guess it has to do with the management personalities. Don't just take a job there to take a job, make sure you're compatible with your department, that's huge. Also, the coffee was soooo bad, but that may have changed with the office move.
