Pros

The pay, maybe? If you consider $800 bi-weekly a decent pay.

Cons

Incredibly UNPROFESSIONAL. Majority of employees, including "managers" act like children. You drive around in a van blasting rap music until you get to your territory. The whole time no one wears seat belts and the driver is texting most of the time. Then you spread out and solicit to the neighbors by bullying people (usually the elderly or non English speakers) into setting up an appointment for products that they don't want or need. Employees openly talk about drug use and customers they've treated disrespectfully. If you have any morals, then you should stay away from this place.

Thank you for your feedback. Nearly all the feedback for the company is positive. This could make negative feedback hard to hear for some companies, but for us it is very important because this type of feedback can help us improve. Before going into more detail I would like to first clarify that the pay is $400 in your training week. The Base pay out of training is $600 a week or $1200 bi-weekly. There is also uncapped commission. We are sorry that you had a negative experience to cause your resignation after a couple of days. In these few days of training you did experience unprofessionalism and that is not what we are about. As a company we are always looking to improve and we do make mistakes. We have multiple locations, different departments, and different types of sales: Inside Sales, Home Consultant sales, Telemarketing Sales, Field Marketing and Event Marketing. We have different managers in these locations and for all of these positions. After a couple of days to consider the the whole company immoral and unprofessional is not accurate. We have grown every year and most recently we were awarded as a Top WorkPlace and also by Inc. 500 as the 130th fastest growing company in the United States. This would clearly not be possible without our talented, intelligent, professional and hard working employees and managers - in all of the different departments within HomeStar. Our employees grow organically from from Entry Level positions to be trainers, managers and run offices in their respective departments.

Pros

You get to be outside which can be nice. Everyone wants you to succeed and they work with you to achieve that goal.

Cons

It's a door to door sales job which isn't for everyone, and unless it's a hurricane you're still coming into work. What they say their hours are going to be is all dependent on how your van does so add an extra hour to whatever they say. They also had me fill out one of these reviews at the end of a meeting and tell them what I wrote. When interviewing for this company do your research and ask hard questions because they will try to fluff you up and get you to commit immediately, they are sales people.

Thanks for the feedback. It's important for everyone to see not only the glowing reviews, but also the reviews of employees that did not have a completely positive experience. The First 3-6 months of the Entry Level Marketing Position involves 3 different types of Marketing: Event Marketing, Call Center and Field Marketing. All 3 owners of the business started in these types of Outbound Marketing and almost all of the managers have experience from the ground up and have been promoted organically. The best part of the interview process is the transparency. We actively bring up the most challenging parts of that particular position - AND TRY TO TALK THE CANDIDATE OUT OF THE POSITION. Don't get me wrong we talk about the fantastic culture, organic growth and ability to make great money, but I think the honesty and transparency is why nearly all of our reviews are so positive. We supply every employee with unlimited training and mentoring, base pay + uncapped commission and opportunity for promotion and advancement within 3-6 months. This is also why nearly everyone that works here puts the onus of success and advancement on themselves because we genuinely want to help each individual grow professionally, financially and personally.
