Pros

The only good thing about this place is the clients. They are sweet, honest people whom only seek to improve their quality of life. As an employee, the opportunity to serve our Veterans makes for a fulfilling life....BUT

Cons

Management is the worst. More specifically the CEO, Katrina Johnson. She is the worst person I have ever met. She is rude, menacing, and an ineffective leader. She is the textbook example of the worst manager you could find. From aggressive micro management to passive aggresive harassment, the 8 hours you work feel like a prison. I actually think prison employees are happier. In addition, Ms. Johnson is very unprofessional when addressing issues and concerns you may have as an employee and she has a high level of distrust towards her empoyees. She often will take the opportunity to passively belittle you, privately or publically, as well as ignore you efforts to communicate your concerns with her. She is very disrespectful. You cannot and will not be successful here. I would really encourage anyone considering employment at Horizon Outreach to pray for clarity and discernment. The writing is on the wall. The extremity of the reviews will paint a picture. The employees have either hated their jobs or wrote drictly to Ms. Johnson "praising her".... like they were told to write reviews to counter the negatives (cough cough; hint hint). Please be patient on your job search. The saying 'what glitters isnt always gold' is so true at Horizon Outreach. Id hate for you to accept employment here thinking you have found light in hard, dark times... only to find out later it was an atomic bomb. Greatness awaits you. Keep your head up

Pros

Purpose and mission of the organization

Cons

Where do I begin? Working for Horizon Outreach has to be the worst experience I've ever had in the workforce. The CEO is an awful human being to work for. The reviews of praise here are certainly fabricated as the numbers do not lie. There has been over 20 case managers employed with the agency that clients and community partners can verify. They either resign or the CEO will terminate before the 90 day probationary period to avoid having to pay unemployment. She wasted a great deal of my time and it is my sincere wish that I never crossed paths with this cruel being.
