Pros

The company is understaffed, which means you get to do and learn a lot of tasks. It’s really interesting, and the learning curve is steep. I had the chance to travel to different countries with Horizon since their clients are international. I really appreciate my N+2, a very professional and empathetic manager, which, of course, sometimes creates friction with HR. He knows when and how to defend his team. I've met a lot of interesting people at Horizon with diverse backgrounds.

Cons

I feel like the HR policy is not aligned with my needs. There is no transparency, no flexibility, and no consideration of employees' needs. They minimize costs even though it could affect the employees. They don’t align with compensation trends in the industry, which has left me underpaid for all the tasks I do. There is no recognition of the work done, and it's not valued by the hierarchy. It's a toxic environment for me to work in. My colleagues and I face a lot of pressure, which causes them to behave in a hostile way. The company offers the bare minimum in benefits (e.g., meal vouchers of €7, half-paid Navigo pass). It’s really complicated to find answers to my questions; people usually either don’t have time or aren’t in the mood to help. Additionally, my manager (N+1) engages in micromanagement, which is unbearable. I could not support being there anymore.
