Pros

Good salary, remote working, using slack

Cons

I reported that a manager had a bad behaviour, similar to sexual harassment / sexual bullying + this person was criticising my way of living with my partner. Their response? Fire me. They don't know much about building a good product, they just focus on the money and nothing else. The CEO is arrogant, same for the CTO. They will hire you under a Hong Kong contract, like that you have no rights whatsoever if something goes wrong. They have team meet-ups in different places in the world, which is a good idea, but there is really sexual things happening there, some people have been criticised when not being willing to participate to those sexual behaviours, other got promoted when participating. It's a workplace, there should be boundaries or things to not do. If you flirt or more with the CEO you can get far, really far. This is not correct at all.

At Hornet, we value all feedback good or bad. While we cannot comment on individual cases, we are sorry to hear that you feel negatively about your time with us and we take it seriously. One thing we would like to make very clear is that Hornet is committed to providing a work environment that is free of harassment of any kind, including sexual and sex-based harassment. There is a policy in place that is communicated to all team members with a clear reporting path if any such situation should happen.

Pros

- Flexible & remote work with interesting people around the world. I am trusted by my manager and my team to do my job instead of worrying about face time. I get so much more done and I am happier when I can manage my life and work better. - The CEO has been hiring big guns with the addition of a head of sales and a COO. Both are great! - Much needed process and data driven decision making being put in place. - Leaders and everyone at the company care about the LGBT community. They aren't just after making quick money. There is soul in the company.

Cons

- we should do more to celebrate as a team - we don't have all the great perks that other tech companies have like free meals, etc. - we are still too small to have great career opportunities in terms of promotions.
