Pros

Upper management values you as a person and if you do a good job, which is mainly upholding basic company standards like smiling and showing up for scheduled shifts on time, you are rewarded for your work and can even be promoted to a management role. We work in the tourism industry so depending on the location where you work at, you may be required to work holidays and weekends (which is in the job description and you are also being told during your interview). Great team events, sales contests, fun team environment, easy job.

Cons

Some of the things that are hard to deal with are not something that the company is necessarily responsible for. For example: our locations are spread out all across the US so each location has it's own manager. When we hire a manager or a supervisor for a location we hire them because they were qualified on paper and they interviewed well but it's ultimately that manager's responsibility to create a great work environment for the team. The company provides the management team with support and the tools to success but it's up to each person to implement those within the team. There are no benefits because it is a small company but that is specified in the job description and during the interview process so it's not a surprise to any team member when they are hired.
