Pros

As a recently hired team member in HE I have already noticed how supportive the team is for new hires. Even though the properties in the portfolio operate as franchises, there are still a lot of helpful connections and support across the different brands and properties. The goals and expectations are clear, and there’s an expectation to bring an entrepreneurial mindset, take initiative, and share ideas. There also seems to be great mentorship and real opportunities for growth for people who are eager to learn. The cross-property learning and support is well structured, effective and real!

Cons

The biggest challenge is the offsite support models with IT and Finance. The teams are supporting a lot of brands and properties, so the structure makes sense, but there can be a disconnect from what’s actually happening at property level. Time zone differences also make it tough to get real-time help when issues come up. At times, support feels more ticket-based than collaborative, especially with more complex issues.

Supportive culture with growth opportunities

Pros

A really positive and supportive place to work. The people make a big difference. There’s a strong team culture and a lot of support across departments. You can tell the company cares about developing talent, and there are real opportunities to grow if you’re willing to put in the work. Leadership is accessible and open to ideas, which isn’t always the case at larger companies. It also feels like the company is heading in a good direction and continuing to evolve.

Cons

We're growing, so sometimes things can feel a little like processes are still catching up. You might have to wear multiple hats depending on your role, which can be a pro or con depending on your perspective.
