My direct manager was a nightmare to work with who contributed to a distrusting toxic work environment. She actually drove to a colleagues house one days to confirm she was "actually sick" when this person called out. She would often get into screaming matches with the director of the orginization in the hallway. They were also so stuck in their way of doing things - refusing to use Google calendar so we could better collaborate and invite others to meetings easily - preferring to use a physical calendar on their desks. Refusing to go digital and instead dedicating half the office space to filing cabinets. People who had long been jaded and had zero empathy left in them continuing to work with clients and being extremely rude and unprofessional.
