Business outlook

Pros

Good worklife balance, Finish at 5pm, closed sundays, closed on bankholidays and over christmas, Half day on saturday, this is vastly better than any other retail company out there. Good company progression if you really want to fight for it, with experience and hark work being the core of progression. The company in some respects does look out for their staff. Shout out the CEO Andrew, who protected the staff from longer opening hours, including opening on bank holidays while I worked there

Cons

Depends a lot on the store manager whether it's a good place to work or not. The different branches can be managed in vastly different ways, and some can be a lot worse than others. Pay isn't as good as other companies, but for me that was an ok trade off for the work/life balance. The kitchen sales designer role can be a burnout role, if you end up juggling new sales, existing sales, aftersales care, deliveries, trade customer relationships and their customer 'end user' relationships. A designer role has no natural progression, so probably a side step role before moving into management.

Business outlook

Pros

Decent pay, good bonus structure, opportunities for development and growth. Business structure makes it easier from a customer service point of view.

Cons

Too demanding, rather than appreciate achievements you're maligned for targets missed. A lot of internal politics - it's a numbers game ultimately, and you have to work the numbers, you can be the hero one minute and then easily it's forgotten and you're public enemy number one the next.
