Pros
I love the nightlife environment. It's like a nightclub with live music all night provided by musicians. You're paid WELL with insurance and paid vacations. They care about the musicians. It's loads of fun to be around so many high energy people every night. It's a night job so your days are open to do what you want. You also learn many different instruments.
Cons
If you can't learn top 40 songs rather quickly (3-4 songs a week) you'll feel left behind. Not many other cons except for you'll spend lots of time rehearsing at home but that's a pro for some people like myself.
