Pros

good people working here and generally friendly but with the decline in sales there were many good people that left

Cons

no diversity in the executive management team, sometimes they have difiiculty interfacing with the work force. Overall still a good place to work although it is heavily tied into the construction industry.

Pros

The Hubbell corporate leaders have a can-do attitude, and they do a good job creating an overall company vision. There are great corporate benefits such as multiple-choice health care plans, vision, life insurance, etc. There is a 401K program with a 3% match, plus a generous 4% extra via profit sharing. There is also continuing education funding. This particular location cares a lot about implementing the latest technologies in their products. It’s involved, hands-on work, and there is always something to learn. They provide plenty of training and on-site lunches. There are opportunities for patents and intellectual property. They often sponsor non-U.S. Citizens and pay for their work visa. Management here does an exceptional job of presenting the facility’s undertakings to the Corporate Managers favorably, and of course this helps keep the facility running.

Cons

Reorganization has been the name of the game for several years. This has been at the both corporate level and the local level. Few jobs anywhere are 100% secure, but it was to the point that employees almost always shutter when a all-hands meetings are called. At least two other people mentioned that Management is chaotic, and I agree. Unorganized, cross-management is the norm. Their way of producing maximum workflow is to set unattainable goals, and this results in continuous frustration from the worker’s point of view. Worst of all, if for some reason one disagrees with Management even in the slightest - or if they are disliked by management in the slightest - they are slowly phased out and/or blackballed and forced to quit. And as others have mentioned, turnover is exceptionally high.

Large company, decent benefits, good people to work along.

Cons

Consolidation of facilities, offshoring manufacturing and support. Inability to service customers.
