Pros

Honestly fantastic to help the students achieve, I loved working and helping the students better themselves for their futures

Cons

Senior leadership and managers who just pander to those above without questioning poor practice or just bad ideas. Constant over paid new CEOs who just move around the country pretending they know best, just being fake, asking for ideas to save the college then do the absolute opposite. SLT and constant sycophants with zero ideas, so frustrating that great staff leave. Such a shame and only the students are affected.

Pros

Friendly colleagues and many members of staff truly care about the job.

Cons

- Not very flexible or willing to make adjustments for additional needs of staff (do go above and beyond for students) - Reluctant to hire more staff that are needed to replace those who have left and instead add it to your workload without raising wages - Nowhere for staff to eat lunch on-site apart from in canteen or at desk (rarely get full hour without being disturbed) - It's definitely a 'who you know' culture - expect to be passed over for a promotion because someone else is friends/family with management - Nowhere near enough parking - have to get there an hour early just to get a spot

Pros

Students are fantastic to work with, and watching them develop is the only good thing about working here.

Cons

Poor management across the board, with many failing upwards who don't know how to manage others well, if at all. As a result, dumb decisions are made, opportunities are lost, and teams suffer. Little professional development is given. Staff are bullied by senior leadership, often causing mental health issues which extend outside of the work day. For the sake of the fantastic students who come through the doors, I hope this is stopped so staff can finally stop looking over their shoulders and wondering, 'am I next?'
