In-bred family business, managed with nepotism

Pros

High profile projects Former glory on resume

Cons

5 years behind other companies in the industry in adopting technology and training it's people in the effective use of it. Promotes and hires people on the merit of family members of long-term employees in the company, fires and lays off competent people in order to make way for family members. Does not value female engineers, or project managers and relegates them to positions of glorified secretaries. It's a good old boys club, stuck in the 1950s, and getting further and further away from the reality of the industry and the work force attempting to enter it. Completely out of touch.

Dallas Office lacks moral compass!

Pros

Hunt is a major industry player that gets their fair share of large and high profile projects.

Cons

The Dallas office gives field employees minimal feedback and does not recognize hard work and talent. I also witnessed a serious lack of business ethics. Use of technology is 10 years behind similar sized competitors.

Pros

Hands on training, good project managers and field personnel, always busy.

Cons

To many jobs assigned to one employee. Leaves others with less work or like myself laid off after 15 1/2 years. Upper management did not even give a letter of reference leaving other employers wondering why you were let go.
