Beware if this company takes over the business you work for.

Pros

Lots of genuine hard workers. Friendly people at the bottom level. Branch staff try their best for customers.

Cons

At first the company will try to make it seem like there are career opportunities for you and that you will be rewarded for hard work - but you will soon end up over worked, highly stressed, and with poor contracts that offer less than you had before. Also, beware this company showed very little compassion or consideration for an individual's personal circumstances (e.g., childcare commitments, illness, ability to travel long distances) and in my experience they are unwilling to make reasonable adjustments to support their current employees or potential candidates applying for roles. If you find yourself employed by this company after a take-over or acquisition, I would highly recommend you start looking for a different role as soon as possible, before you are forced into an unfavourable contract, or forced out altogether!

Pros

This once was a great HR department when under Grafton Group, however, since the acquisition in Jan 2022 to join Huws Gray, it is no longer a great department to be apart of.

Cons

There is limited to zero growth for development unless you are based in Wales or willing to relocate. Very much a big brother approach and almost call centre based with calls, queries and laptops being tracked/monitored. The Senior HR Team based in Wales lack the ability to listen, communicate, build relationships, and understand the business and its peoples needs. This is due to inexperience, ignorance and incompetency. Bullying and Harassment via the Senior HR Team based in Wales. Nothing ever done re these matters when raised by various member of the wider U.K. HR Team.
