Pros

It's a multicultural work environment with a diverse group of colleagues. The company offers competitive initial salary packages, and the projects are often challenging and provide opportunities to learn and grow.

Cons

There are several drawbacks to working here. Pay issues, monthly pay periods, and the absence of a 401K plan can cause financial instability. Consistent problems with PTO requests and limited growth opportunities make work-life balance and career advancement challenging. Communication barriers due to language and cultural differences lead to misunderstandings. Non-Korean employees without language skills may face unfair treatment, and the mandated 1-hour and 30-minute lunch break disrupts the workday flow. Upper management support is lacking, and it can be challenging to address work-related concerns.

Pros

Good pay and good insurance but that's about it

Cons

I'm Korean but grew up in the States for more than half of my life so I was expected to follow Korean culture while I was in a culture shock.. Good insurance but you don't have time to use your insurance especially if you are Korean. They don't want you to succeed. The HR doesn't want you to succeed even though you are in engineering and there's no overlap. They will go out of their way to make staffs inconvenient. Not so much for Americans, but if you look Korean and can speak Korean, they will give you a hard time about taking PTOs and sick days. 1.5 hrs of lunch break and you must take it. Not flexible at all. Traffic gets worse and worse every day. If you are a local hire, most likely to be laid off as your project gets closer to the end. No promotions either. You are a contract worker. Elders are OK to be rude for some reason. Managers do not get to have a suggestion or an opinion. They want you to work like slaves.

Pros

Looks good on a resume

Cons

If you don’t speak Korean, good luck. Google Translate wont work well either. Tough to be in project management when no one on your team understands you, can provide clear direction, or any feedback at all. You will quickly be cast aside if you do not meet their expectations/conform. Management becomes fixated on the smallest issues and will request immediate urgency to fix minute problems. Intense hierarchy where all decisions are run up a long line of seniority, of which you are, and will always be, at the bottom. No quality control, measurements, or data points will be given to you but they’ll tell you to call up someone from another company and basically yell at them to fix a problem you can’t prove really exists. You’ll be hired on by an American HR staff then dumped onto a Korean team that probably doesn’t need your help. It’s up to you to prove why you need your job and if you can keep it. The highest paying job I’ve had and the quickest I’ve ever left a place. Go work somewhere else if you care about your career or mental health.
