      Pros

      Good salary, good secondary benefits, free drinks and snacks, free afterwork drinks every Friday, paid weekend abroad once per year. Good knowledge sharing, the developers are very professional and helpful, many of them coming from abroad. Hyves is currently the most popular social network in Holland, working there gives an interesting experience of running very large and extremely active website.

      Cons

      Targeted only at the Dutch market. Having side projects for the developers is not encouraged. Unclear future because of the competition with Facebook and other similar sites.

      Great atmosphere Good Benefits: Free Beverages, Free workplace message, Free beers with colleges every week, paid for weekend abroad every year Management/Founders are really approachable Lot of girls working there (not natural for a tech company) Challenging technically

      Cons

      Being a relatively small company I am not sure how easy it is to move up, also the feature for a social network (other than facebook) is quite unforeseeable. Bad reputation among higher educated people in holland

      Pros

      - Possibility to gain a lot of technical knowledge. - Great people. - Nice and quiet work environment. - Very good food in the canteen. - Salary is above the market average. - Company managers are nice and accessible. - Young company - average age of employees is 25 - Good balance between male and female employees. - Multicultural - there are employees of many different nationalities.

      Cons

      - Lack of vision and long term goals in the management. - Disrespect of employee private life (Hyves demands exclusivity and requires full commitment to a single employer). This is a big turn off for creative people who like to pursue various paid for activities outside work. - Material rewards in the form of various presents are sometimes given to employees, but often you have to work in the right department and be a good friend of your boss to get them.
