What a waste and a shame

Pros

- Excellent health benefits... can't say the same for the other perks - Lots of really good, motivated people - So much potential

Cons

- Management is, generally, a waste of space and scattered. Truly, the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing - Deceptive perks/benefits: At first, many excellent perks were given to employees, such as team building activities to go go-karting, movie outings, team lunches outings, and even daily lunches... until the company would pivot directions based on their very unstable direction/outlook, and would take the benefits away in a snap to appeal to investors. Randomly, things like snack bars will pop up, then disappear without notice. - Dishonest and unethical compensation and treatment of employees: When IO was ramping up their employment (literally hundreds in a calendar year), employees were given phantom units to make up for a less-than-stellar salary, which the company then revoked due to a "change in direction and decision to not go public". Promises that a revision of the phantom units would be made shortly, wherein they would then disburse the units according to appropriately match the new direction of the company. No disbursement was ever made, and any inquiries of the status of this reimbursement have been dismissed quickly. And bonus compensation? Always a reason that some other team's performance affected your bonus outcome, to ensure your 100% performance was reduced to something less. Did sales not meet their annual goals? Your bonus, based off of your own performance, was impacted. Also, numerous reports to management regarding harassment and unfair treatment of employees was disregarded as "a single incident that wont happen again" or even that "we just need to ignore it and carry on". - Terrible HR: HR at IO was amazing, until their leadership changed over a year ago. Understandably, HR is not out for the best interest of their employees, but the best interest and safety of the business. If the two happen to overlap, they will, of course, come running to the rescue. Unfortunately, HR has since been terribly cold and unapproachable. Questions and concerns are addressed in a way that makes it clear to me, that they have absolutely no interest in solving issues that might affect employees on a personal level, unless of course the issues affect the company in a legal way. Anything else? Disputes between employees, issues in the home you feel are affecting your state of mind at work, etc? Go talk to your manager and fix it. Not even a hint of humanness or personality will come from this team.

Pros

The low level employees and immediate supervisors are great people. There are some great people still there, but they are too fearful to make contributions (and with good reason). Many of the great people have left or were laid off.

Cons

Too many high level executives who are not qualified for their position. Too many of them got their position by being related to (or buddies in college with) the top three owners. They do no value their people at all. A history of unethical behavior in Purchasing that was outright criminal. This company mistreats females and it feels like you are in a college frat house. I would run from this company, and not believe the lies they tell applicants to get them on-board. The product they build is sub-standard, over-priced, and their dwindling customer base shows this.

Pros

- Free Lunch for employees - Committed Employee base that just wants their suggestions to be taken seriously - Good on providing data center services (Basic Colo) - Great Business Development from the data center services team - Finance organization is world-class and leadership is solid with this group.

Cons

Bottom-Line: There's simply no respect for the individual. Countless lies about the product, vision, and sales comp. So many people wasted their time with IO. A lot of disappointment. They'll say anything to get you in the door. The politics are all about senior management and their cronies. I'm never this negative about anything...I just don't want other people to waste their time.
