A Career Killing Environment

Pros

Unfortunately at ICC Lowe there are no pros what so ever.

Cons

ICC Lowe is a unhealthy environment. Nobody knows what they're doing and they don't promote growth in your position. You're stuck there. To many older people who are way out of date on everything. They're still on a folder system and these folders are the size of bibles. Seriously? How ancient can you get. They aren't even doing anything digitally to help their process. People write on rounds and rounds of changes. It's so bad no one can read each other's handwriting, which causes more rounds of work, which keeps everyone at the office late. This is a environment/industry that kills your career. I don't recommend anyone joining it or working in it. It is boring, cut and dry. The work is not fun, and uninteresting. No one likes their job and is miserable. Many people have been fired recently due to FCBs take over. The senior people cower waiting to see if they're going to be fired. What ICC doesn't tell you is that they have 3 offices. ICC Lowe, ICC Lowe Trio, and ICC Pace. They shift their employees around working at various offices because they don't have the budget or money to have talented people working their. These people at the other offices are inexperience, out of date, and obsolete. I've seen some creative directors who can't director or aren't tech savvy with the latest products. They have no knowledge of current application designs and don't understand the concepts of new designs in technology. They repeatedly ask questions. Think of trying to explain how and why a iPhone works to your great grandfather, and they never understand the concept. They create more problems then they solve.

Pros

Exposure to many brands and parts of the agency as a whole. Made a lot of friends

Cons

Upper management. There is so much ego and no mentorship. You can tell your supervisor over and over where you want to go and how you'd like to grow - and they could be completely supportive of that - but as soon as it is taken to the higher ups, it's like the conversation never happened. You're just constantly told why you're not good enough for a higher job position, and they just keep adding more things to the list of responsibilities required, in order to get promoted. It's a broken record.
