Immediately felt that a particular person in HR was not happy with my being hired. This person was not part of the hiring process for my position (people above this person was but they were at a remote location), but this person was in charge at the location I worked at. On my first day this HR mgr was particularly rude and made sure to take time to come and brag to me about past career experience while trying to intrusively direct me on how to do detailed aspects of my job - unsolicited. Clearly this was a person who needs to feel important. This continued until the day I was told (by said employee) that I was no longer employed with Idex. I was given Zero explanation as to why, zero opportuity to discuss any concerns my supervisor might have had, and zero explanation from this 'manager'. This HR manager was smiling and seemed satisfied to tell me I didn't have a position there any longer. It seemed personal and I cannot fathom why...but beware. I think others in most departments are stellar, professional, competent and truly want their colleagues to succeed. I never felt that from this person, in fact it was the complete opposite. My only thinking is that this person had someone else in mind for the position that she was going to let them know about after she somehow was part of communications to others at remote locations that contributed to my being let go "with no explanation". I have over 20 years of experience with well respected companies...so this completely made no sense. Also after further looking into this, I was not told the truth about my predecessor and how long they were there and why they left. Further, I see many "anonymous" reviews from current employees (why the need for being anonymous if the reviews are sincere)...that I now think are encouraged by "mgrs" like this person to hide that there is a real problem here.
