Use to love but went downhill with new management
Pros
-At first, there were a lot of opportunities to shine and grow with management that truly valued design. The company had no designers initially until a former manager hired them and started a small design department. -The Boston office is really nice and has a very convenient location. -Overall a lot of really nice people work for the company. -The CEO is extremely nice and cares about people.
Cons
-PTO is limited. HR claims it's good but in reality if you get very sick you then have no time to take for personal matters. -Systems for claiming time off and putting in hours (even salary employees had to put in hours) were antiquated and easily caused errors. -New Manager didn't value work/life balance, talked down to employees, and didn't understand design processes. Had long time-wasting conversations explaining design methods and decisions. -When management changed the company no longer valued design (was told by the new manager that he was confused as to why the previous manager hired 2 designers instead of just 1) -Wasn't given recognition or pay raise after solely designing an entirely new UI component library from scratch plus a new visual direction for the product.
