Have Lost Their Way

Pros

Direct colleagues were in general lovely people.

Cons

Too focussed of silly things like how neat your desk is rather than on the customer. Lower-level staff are not really listened to despite being the ones dealing directly with the customers. Staff have lost respect and confidence in upper-management and are just trying to keep their heads above water.

Pros

Good employee recognition programs and staff perks. Professional and extensive induction process.

Cons

Very inflexible working arrangements. Acknowledgment is focused a lot more on the time spent in the office and at the desk as apposed to the quantity and quality of work. Location isn’t great and the office itself is quite depressing, especially on the bottom floor. Higher management seems pretty out of touch with what’s going on in the company and how it operates. Probation period is 6 months. Half of employees have worked with the for 20+ years which I took as a good sign, but the other half of the employees seem to have more of a turnover, a colleague of mine even referred to someone working there for almost 2 years as new. Apparently there was recently a huge turnover of management and staff, the impression I got was that it was pretty controversial and the remaining staff definitely weren’t positive about it. The product knowledge is incredibly extensive and complicated in terms of model numbers and what they are used for. The company veterans are in charge of training and because they have worked there for such a long time and communicate predominantly to clients within the industry, I think it was hard for them to be in the shoes of someone coming in with no prior knowledge and even though there was a lot of training it was in large groups made up of very experienced account managers and novice customer service reps and was not tailored at all. A lot of time and money was spent on training that was not very affective.

Terrible Management

Business outlook

Pros

The general colleagues are good to work with when they’re not resigning. Decent pay. Regular overtime and loading added to payslips correctly.

Cons

Considerable amount of turn around in staffing. In fighting between management. No communication. Convoluted processes for simple jobs. No support and if we do get support we get lash-back from management later on as to why we needed it and why couldn’t we do it alone. Not many staff are happy with senior management, many have resigned or just become complacent. Money turn-over is more important than customers despite what they claim. Claims of aiming for a sustainable future while major customers are ruining the environment. 80% of Female staff have resigned.
