Pros

They do a bunch of different things, so there is opportunity to learn about various disciplines. Over many years I have had reasonably stable employment and they pay ok.

Cons

They are so frightened about losing bids they threaten their staff with their livelihoods. Just recently a new HR person sent a rambling message to all employees that included in part "We expect you to review the policy attached in full and remember that our industry is very competitive; you very well could get solicited from other firms; but you signed and thus agreed to the Privacy Agreement, which carries sanctions, when IQ Solutions hired you. We expect you to consider, review and adhere to the written, legal commitment you made and still have with IQ Solutions." The thing is, I had a lawyer review the agreement and in no way does it prevent me from looking out for my family by seeking employment with other government contractors - even competitors! Sadly my boss has made it clear I'll be sued if I work for a competitor, and whether I win or not I can't afford to fight them in court! Based on the owners lifestyle it's clear they are happy to throw money away. It's a terrible situation and with all the work we are losing, or expect to lose, I am afraid I'll be stuck. At one point we did good work, but now we are flailing. Sad.

Pros

There are some long-time employees who really know what they're doing and are passionate about their work.

Cons

It's an environment of mean girls. If you haven't been a part of team working a contract, it is hard to break in and become a working part of it. Folks are quite territorial and don't allow newcomers in unless they are there to make incumbents who don't know anything look good. Mentoring is a joke. If you have an issue or need to ask questions, then you're out. Mostly they just work people until they burn them out. Several employees have relationships with advocacy groups where they earn extra cash leaking info from government clients. The wellness/work-life balance is more hype and marketing than reality. One FDA contract manager bailed without even giving two weeks notice - she was that burned out.

Pros

It was a paid internship.

Cons

This is a terrible company. I can't even begin to describe how much they disrespected me. I interned there for 5 months. At first, I really enjoyed the internship but then my supervisor left and I had to do all her work. I don't mind having a lot of work but upper management never acknowledged all the hard work I was putting into everything I did for them. I was stressed out for two months straight. My hiring supervisor volunteered me for so many other tasks that I didn't even have time to complete but I still got everything done even if I had to take my work home. I never got a job offer or a pay increase even though I was doing much more work than any other interns (and even some employees). Even on my last day on the job they managed to disrespect me even more by not accepting my timesheet. I wasn't able to claim 9 hours of work that I did for two different tasks. They told me that one task should have only taken 2 hours but it actually took me 5 hours to complete. If it was only 2 hours of work why didn't they complete the task? For the other task they sent me the wrong chart to complete but somehow they blamed me and I wasn't able to claim the 4 hours I put into filling out the chart that they sent me. On top of that they still owe me hours of over time. IQ claims to be a communication firm but they have no communication within their own company. I'm so glad I found an actual job and I never have to look back. Don't work at IQ unless you have no other options. Horrible company all around.
