Pros

Very relaxed working environment. Very friendly staff. Fantastic location. Office will be more tolerable with air con installed.

Cons

Unstructured operations. Inefficient to non existent processes. No induction. No documentation. Poor internal communications. Job titles don't match roles and responsibilities. Significant changes made without notifying staff prior to the changes put in place. Staff not included in any decisions. Staff roles and responsibilities altered without discussing or agreeing changes with the staff members themselves! Internal systems hanging with a string - comms room is a storage room running at a cool 38 degrees! Most IT equipment date back 7+ years.

Pros

Exposure to a wide range of technologies ranging from 2005-2019, some good techies on the desk that can get stuck in and have a laugh

Cons

Fast paced! every other day something critical has toppled over whether its in-house or on a client site. Due to the rushed pressure the service will be "repaired" but you'll never have the time to fully investigate the why and apply a fix to the root issue leading to more support calls and annoyed clients. You'll be frantically scouring the half dozen locations that might contain the documentation you need but will most likely be out of date, irrelevant and password protected by a passphrase in another location - Thank you Mario but our Princess is in another castle! Technicians are over worked and expected to multitask continuously while documenting every minute of their day to hopefully a billable client. This leads to frustrated workers and encourages certain individuals to hunt down tickets they know can be done quickly but can write hours against on their time sheet (routine maintenance checks that should be automated) High staff turnover, all leaving for mostly the same reasons - the unpleasant working environment You'll be expected to bend the truth when talking to clients when something breaks or a mistake is made and cover up how short staffed the help desk is at times
